The common tripod design is having difficulty to stand still on uneven surface, small area and can’t hold the camera to shot vertically ( or top down).  Here Morteza Faghihi the great designer had come out with a brilliant design, non-human-killing Biopod which uses the unique positioning and balancing to solve the uneven surface problem we faced.

The first looks at the design look like an robot insect, playing mantis perhaps. I wonder if the design is formed base on the insect posture. Wondering…

Hard drive that can fit into wallet? Wow… then that have to be very small? How small?

Samsung designed an 20GB 1.8″ hard drive with minimum enclosure and it is selling cheap at USD45 at China. It is about the size of normal credit cards. The HDD is equipped with an tiny USB plug.

With this tidy HDD, we can bring it anywhere we want, right? Is it a good and practical design?

To us, this is another non-practical idea to have it in the wallet, it looks so fragile to keep in the wallet and with the minimum enclosure design, it expose to more crush potential.

I wonder this gadgets end up sitting on them if I had one…. :(. Perhaps it is good to carry it together in hand bags for ladies in light weight.

World largest mouse? Gosh… what a big one, a real fat one. What happen to the editor? Are you kidding? This suppose to be tech and auto blog, what are you doing with the big fat mouse here?

Ops, perhaps I am using the wrong photo? hee hee.. The photo above is what came into my mind when I look at the title, World largest mouse.

But I am going to share with you a creative design by Weston Boege to create an integration between keyboard and mouse in one (keyboard + mouse = KeyMouse??).

It is a glide keyboard with optical sensor mounted below it. The thing you have to do is to glide the keyboard instead of using mouse. This is definitely help the user using the “largest mouse” without having their hands leaving the keyboard.

It sounds like a great and creative design. But to me, it is such an bad design. Why? The design is not ergonomics at all. Imagine you are having you Counter Strike on the play with this giant mouse, you have to move your whole arm to navigate front, back, left and right? and pressing the mouse pad with you elbow then.

I dare not imagine if I am having one at home, or perhaps I would need physio therapy for having one.

If you thought your premium mouse had a lot of buttons, check out the Glide Keyboard from Weston Boege. Resting on low friction pads, the keyboard slides around your desk picking up the movement through an optical sensor mounted underneath. The keyboard also integrates traditional mousing controls into the moulded palm rest that grips your hands as they move. Can’t say it’s a bad idea, although I can see having trouble typing when half the keys are fused together.

Perfect match is always an ideal case for most of us. Matching each element is the focus and rules of thumb of most designers out there to deliver a great desgin. But have you ever imagine to get those unmatch element integrated into the design.

Hmm, here is a design from Luis Porem, a table with one leg in different shape while the remaining 3 legs are alike. To me it looks great.

It’s one part modern and 2 parts whimsical. The Flaque Table technically only has 3 legs, all with different shapes. It’s a bit kitsch but he sleek lines and elegant dark wooden table top brings it back on the side of modern. However just as it’s trying to look all serious in your room, “X” marks the spot in one of the corners, as if there’s treasure buried in that leg. Hmm, I wonder. . .

But I am not a trained waiter, getting 5-8 glasses on the plate is a nightmare to me. I broke 3 glasses that night :(. It surprised everyone in the house each time.  what a shame…

I did a quite googled on the net to find if there is any great design that will help me to solve the problem and the design below Pick-Cup amazed me with the creativity he had, Jung-Woo Baik the designer.

I’m always amazed at the dexterity some servers are gifted with; 2 plates of food and 8 cups of drinks all delivered without a hitch. I can barely get out the door with 3 cups of coffee so I usually force a co-worker to come with me. Pick-Cups have uniquely designed handles that make them easy to hold 4 in each hand. Just slip a finger into each slot and like a boiling ball pinch to keep them all snug for transport.

The world of personal transportation, with few exceptions, has littered the earth with embarrassing paraphernalia. In-line skates, pogo sticks, the recumbent bike — all disasters to personal style. Mix in electricity and you get the Segway, or alternatively, Focus Design’s SBU electric self-balancing unicycle. The SBU can be steered by leaning left to right (like a regular unicycle) and uses Segway-style gyroscopes to power your lazy ass forwards and backwards. Not a new idea by any stretch, but Focus Design is actually crazy enough to be working on bringing this thing to market. Focus hopes to do a limited run of ten SBUs next month, at $1,500 a month. Peep the video after break to see if you can handle the shame.

This is an PUCCA blackberry handphone (handheld). It is an amazing design from China whom we believe yet to get any granted permission from the author of PuCCA based in Korea. Based on the specifications given, it is equipped with camera, bluetooth capability, MP4, FM radio and it is a dual band phone with 85g in weight.

It is not feather light but the cute outlook might be a great option for gift to girls.

Due to the unique design of the phone, it is not convenient to have it inside the pocket, It meant to hang around your neck.

You might wonder where is all the keypad, headphone, speaker and the LCD screen. Dun worry, phone no longer a phone without these features included. Here we go…

It is a flip type handphone. Once you open by clicking on the latch on the top of the head, you will see all the hidden 26 TFT 1.3 inch LCD, keypad and speaker.

You will get the hidden speaker and camera on both of her ear.
