lagonda-main-page

Known for its stylish cars , Aston Martin is back with new looks LAGONDA . This Car has every feature a car should have to be classified as Premuim Luxury Sedan. LAGONDA has big history trailing from 1974 to 1990 when 645 odd number of LAGONDA were made. Cars name is derived from Lagonda Marque that Aston Martin had acquired in 1947.

On 28 February 2015 Aston Martin announced that the luxurious new Lagonda super saloon will be made available, in strictly limited numbers, to more customers around the world.

Aston Martin will now accept orders for the Lagonda Taraf – the latest in a proud line of saloons revered worldwide as ‘the finest of fast cars’ – from prospective owners in more major markets. It is now available to clients in EU legislation-compliant Continental Europe, the United Kingdom and South Africa, with the Lagonda Taraf now re-engineered to be available in either left or right-hand drive.

Initially available only to buyers in the Middle East, where it was launched in Dubai late last year, the Lagonda Taraf is being built in a strictly limited small series of no more than 200 cars.

Details are scarce right now, but it’s safe to assume the four-door will be based on the Rapide S and ride on a stretched version of its wheelbase. Power is likely to come from the same 6.0-liter V-12 engine that delivers 558 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque. More details should become available later this year.

Aston Martin Vantage GT12

Aston Martin has revealed  the first details of its most potent and uncompromising Vantage to date: the track-inspired Vantage GT12.

With production strictly limited to just 100 examples, the new model combines all of Aston Martin’s learning from its years of sports car competition around the globe to produce its most performance focused road-going Vantage.

Equipped with a new iteration of the brand’s 6.0-litre V12 engine which is capable of generating up to 600 PS, the car weighs in at 100kg less than a standard V12 Vantage S.

Comprehensively re-engineered, as well as significantly restyled, the GT3-inspired special edition is lower and wider than any of its siblings in the Vantage family. A broader track – front and rear – brings even more composed cornering thanks to a reduction in lateral load transfer, while the use of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres provides even more assured handling.

Thoroughly equipped with cutting edge motorsport-inspired features, from the extensive use of carbon fibre inside and out to the track-focused aerodynamics pack – which includes a prominent rear wing and pronounced front splitter – the race-derived new Vantage brings more focused and uncompromising capability and styling to a road-going Aston Martin.

The aerodynamics package in particular has a profound effect, producing significant downforce to provide even greater levels of grip and stability at higher speeds.

Inspired by Aston Martin Racing’s successful campaigns, this new GT3-derived Vantage has been designed and engineered exclusively at Aston Martin’s Gaydon Headquarters in Warwickshire, England, to be the most overt expression of everything that defines Vantage: an inspirational sports model offering supreme driveability on the road, and uncompromising dynamic performance on track.

New flared carbon fibre front wings, carbon fibre bonnet, a lithium ion race-derived battery, carbon-fibre door casings, optional carbon fibre roof, optional weight-saving polycarbonate rear window and rear quarter windows are just a few of the measures which illustrate the engineers’ determination to eliminate mass wherever possible. That determination has paid off, too, as the new car weighs in at only 1,565 kg.

Under the skin lie a number of bespoke engineering upgrades, aside from the new 600 PS  V12 engine. Magnesium inlet manifolds with revised geometry, a lightweight magnesium torque tube and a full titanium exhaust system with centre outlets are just a few of the features that underline the rigorous re-engineering of this exclusive new Vantage.

The car’s interior is comprehensively reworked, too, with a full carbon fibre centre stack and touch-sensitive control array; race-derived carbon fibre sports seats; Alcantara trim and the option of numerous bespoke features courtesy of the brand’s popular personalisation service: Q by Aston Martin.

Announcing the arrival of the Vantage GT12, Aston Martin CEO Dr Andy Palmer said: “Motorsport is in our blood at Aston Martin. The Vantage is the car we campaign in top level sports car racing around the world and so it seems only fitting that we offer an exclusive, limited edition Vantage that expertly fuses our motorsport know-how with our road car prowess.”

He added: “The Vantage GT12 is an uncompromising example of our design and engineering expertise and I’m sure the 100 owners who secure one of these cars will savour every second behind the wheel; whether on the road or on the track.”

The Vantage GT12 will make its public debut  at the 85th Geneva International Motor Show , with first customer deliveries beginning in the third quarter of 2015.

PERFORMANCE

The reasoning behind the Aston Martin V8 Vantage S was to push the boundaries of the V8 Vantage and consecrated with the highest level of driver involvement as possible. Aston Martin engineers made improvements in almost all the dynamic elements of the car to create a very special experience to drive.

“With each new model, we continue to develop and improve our VH architecture,” says Aston Martin Product Development Manager, Ian Minard. “The technical team at Gaydon watched each performance characteristic of the V8 Vantage, engine and transmission, suspension, steering, brakes and tires, and considered what was necessary to make this car worthy of the coveted “S” badge. The result is a clean driver-focused package that, in both coupe and roadster form, exploits and highlights the sporty character of the iconic Vantage. “

The 4.7-liter V8 engine has been modified to provide a maximum power of 430 hp (436 hp / 321 kW) at 7200 rpm and maximum torque of 490 Nm (361 lb.-ft.) at 5000 rpm, an increase of 10 hp and 20 Nm respectively, and can be delivered to a full black engine. The increase was achieved through a system of air intake valve and an aggressive strategy of sparks. The system of intake valve opens above 3500 rpm to allow more air to flow into the engine, which helps optimize the performance exactly the right part of the torque curve. Aggressive strategy of using a sophisticated electronic ignition to ignite the fuel in the engine as well as the law allows it to function at its best. It can also recognize and extract octane optimum performance of the higher rating.

The power and torque Aston Martin V8 Vantage S delivered at speeds most popular mid-range engines, creating a smooth and effortless acceleration. Most demand for power and torque in the midrange, which in the Aston Martin V8 Vantage S, where the maximum torque delivered at 5000 rpm.

Sportshift ™ II is an automated manual transmission with a new seven-speed Graziano transmission is placed in the rear of the Aston Martin Vantage S on deck to help close a 49:51 weight balance. The system has a unique manual clutch coupled with electronic switching devices to change the relationship and was designed from scratch exclusively for Aston Martin V8 Vantage Aston Martin S. specifically chosen to develop the system SPORTSHIFTTM due to its inherent advantages, including savings mass sport, low complexity of moving parts and tangible changes in the actual speed. This contributes, along with other parts of the weight savings, a reduction in total vehicle weight of 30 kg.

Electro-hydraulic control is enabled by two paddles mounted on the steering column of magnesium allows the driver to move up or down. Faster than a conventional manual system, and at least 50 kg lighter than a dual-clutch Sports Shift ™ II offers the inherent advantages of being able to operate in automatic mode and the switch manually. Sport Shift ™ II is 24 kg lighter than the offset presented at the Sport ™ Vantage standard.

Sport Shift ™ II contains seven digits in the first six gears to sit closer to take advantage of the characteristics of engine torque, improving acceleration and feel gives the driver better control. The seventh speed is a long-term relationship for a quieter vehicles, more refined cruising on highways and also provides increased fuel economy.

Driver interaction SportshiftTM II, was as simple as possible, so that the driver can concentrate on driving. Two pallets of magnesium to allow up or down to change gears. The controls are mounted in the column so the driver can always be found easily, regardless of what the position of the steering wheel is

And selecting the gears manually, the paddle-shift, the driver can also select the “D” key on the instrument panel carries an automatic control mode, which works like a traditional automatic transmission when changing gears at the right time, when the light is working in urban areas, traffic and highway driving.

The new seven-speed automated manual is standard fit on the Aston Martin V8 Vantage S to the sporty character of the car. Aston Martin has chosen not to offer an optional manual transmission because of the strong projected demand for sport Shift II ™.

Aston Martin V8 Vantage S ‘athleticism really comes in its class, when the “Sport” is depressed on the dashboard to give the driver the fastest gear changes as well as manual and automatic (a decrease of 60 msec), and prevents the car turns into next gear when the revolution limit is reached. By default, the “normal” offers the most advanced, gas is more suitable for everyday situations, such as driving in urban areas, traffic or weather conditions. Clicking on how ‘Sports’ offers a sharper sports exhaust gases with a note. This mode is designed for use in dynamic driving situations, the more clear answers are needed, extracting maximum performance from the machine.

Aston Martin V8 Vantage S weighs 1610 kg (Coupe), 30 kg lighter than the standard Vantage because of the weight optimization of a new Sportshift ™ II, the transfer and use of carbon fiber. Air-cooled, oil cooled, Sportshift ™ II for the use of the system by removing the oil pump and related items to save 24 kg more than the traditional six-speed Sportshift ™.

Like all the benefits of Aston Martin Vantage S of almost perfect weight balance from beginning to end at 49:51 because the location of the gearbox on the deck that contribute to the excellent dynamics.

The S Aston Martin V8 Vantage is a practical everyday sports car with a group of 300 liters with opening rear door for convenient cutting path, while the Roadster has an automatic retractable fabric roof that can be used up to 30 km / h .

The S variant features a unique muffler adapted specifically for the hearing scheduled for their sport. A revised map of the bypass valves open earlier in the rev range at 3500 rpm and even before in the “Sport” mode produces more cracks in excess.

CONTROL

Aston Martin V8 Vantage S bridges the gap between the Vantage V8 Vantage GT4 and drag racing cars offered by Aston Martin Racing. Standard components of the Vantage platform perfectly suited to competition and produce an adaptation of auto racing, only minor modifications. 2010 was the year’s most successful point of reference for the Vantage GT4 competition in the car: he won his class in Dubai within 24 hours endurance race is followed by further wins the 24 Hours Nürburgring, Silverstone 24 hours Spa 24 hours. However, the car was the first major international championship in the GT4 European Cup race winner rhesus What year was the culmination of a great machine. In 2011, Vantage GT4 has been updated to take advantage of the major benefits of the aerodynamic body V12 Vantage and V8 Vantage S ‘styling products.

With the knowledge of the track filtering road cars from Aston Martin and driveability on the track filter, the benefits of S Aston Martin V8 Vantage has sharpened the handling characteristics of skilled engineers and talented of the brand.

Steering rack was modified with a ratio of 3:01 p.m. 5:01 p.m. from the Vantage lower standard steering wheel lock to lock ranges from 3.04 to 2.62. This results in greater accuracy and improved agility, responsiveness and handling of fluids, and allows the driver to feel a closer connection with the car – it offers a more engaging driving and energetic.

An enhanced braking system plays a central role in the Aston Martin V8 Vantage S ‘momentum with a new disc of larger diameter front brake, 380 mm by 355 mm compared to the V8 Vantage, six-piston front calipers and a new generation of brake control module.

Front brakes are race-inspired design floating plate. The tiles are made of two materials: cast iron and aluminum, cast iron is bolted through the Polish system of floating aluminum bell. The technology allows the dynamic benefits of reduced unsprung weight of the brake, which is lighter than normal cast iron brake, is a better heat resistance, improved cooling and produces a more consistent pedal feel. While faced with larger diameter discs, the weight of each disk has decreased 0.4 kg. Vantage S is also a new brake pedal as a booster to reduce the effort and travel.

The system includes a new brake module offer a more discreet and provide enhanced functionality to existing features such as ABS, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), electronic brake distribution (EBD), Traction Control (TC) and positive torque control (PTC) and the new hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA) that provide assistance in emergency braking situations. The Hydraulic Brake Assist function identifies when the driver requires maximum braking performance of the speed at which the brake pedal is pressed, and automatically increases brake pressure to the ABS control threshold for as long as the driver keep the brake pedal is pressed. As a result, the braking distance is reduced significantly.

Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) has been specially optimized for the Aston Martin V8 Vantage S with special attention to its sporty characteristics. A three-stage DSC system allows the driver to adjust the level of intervention depending on the type of electronic behavior. In default mode, the system is “on” limit any tire slippage in difficult conditions, and provide maximum security possible without being intrusive. Hold the button for four seconds, begin DSC “Track Mode”, which could be delayed electronics, creating an even purer experience safe. Press the button for five seconds to turn off completely.

S Aston Martin V8 Vantage is the first introduction of the Hill Start Assist (HSA) on an Aston Martin. If the driver applies the brakes to bring the car to a stop on an incline, Hill Start Assist will hold the car stationary for two seconds to allow the transfer of good when the driver pulls the foot brake to the accelerator. HSA perfect complement to the automated manual transmission.

Suspension systems of the variant of “S” was re-adapted to the more focused on the driver of the car. The coupe has a revision rate rear coil spring and both body styles have retuned damper passive valves and changed the rate of bump stop and lengths. The result is a higher degree of traction and stability with wheels that you get better contact with the ground.

Aston Martin engineers worked closely with Bridgestone during the development program to create custom ring, which is optimized for Aston Martin V8 Vantage, S. RE050s Bridgestone Potenza front and rear are 10 mm wider than the standard Vantage to ensure the highest level of grip.

DESIGN

The Vantage has become one of the most beautiful cars, Aston Martin pronounced, elegant, aggressively controlled and perfectly proportioned with a little attitude reflected. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage S operates the beauty of the Vantage and it merges with tight design elements of the V12 Vantage, suggesting the potential of the car increased performance.

Aston Martin Design Director, Marek Reichman, said: “We sent the V8 Vantage to the gym to give more definition” S “and the muscles resulting in a more toned.

“This is the perfect machine with an aesthetic that is created from the functionality and aerodynamics to disseminate its targeted nature. The whole car is in tension while the interior is nicely convey the excitement scale of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage S from the inside. “

Aston Martin V8 Vantage S “style largely in the form of supply model, which serves the needs of others” “performance variant of S. Front hand-laid carbon fiber front splitter creates a ground-hugging position suggests agility, but also provides a larger area to give the engine and brakes with more air. The machine operates with a high rear deck lid “flip” to create up-down power of speed. Side profile of a wider sills, which are derived the program GT4 race car, it helps to reduce rear lift, and therefore greater stability at high speeds, preventing the air, which flows along the side of the car to be paid on the car.

ASTON MARTIN DB9

Although there have been several models produced in Aston Martin‘s 90-plus-year history, none have been as famous as those with “DB” tattooed to their tails. The Aston Martin DB9 coupe and Volante convertible is in fact the ninth model to be sold with these hallowed letters, and carries on a sterling automotive tradition.
Sold throughout the 1950s and ’60s, and then resurrected in 1994, the DBs were and still are some of the most drop-dead gorgeous and performance-capable sports cars on the road. Numerous examples have also been driven by a certain British super spy, making the words “Aston Martin” and “James Bond” synonymous terms. It could easily be argued that thanks to 007, the Aston Martin and DB names have remained relevant enough to survive through decades of tumultuous financial difficulties.
As such, the Aston Martin DB9 simultaneously represents the brand’s past and future, with sexy styling inspired by (but not copying) previous models and a high-tech aluminum platform that has underpinned every subsequent new Aston. If this success continues, hopefully we can look forward to new DBs for years to come.

Current Aston Martin DB9
The Aston Martin DB9 is offered in 2+2 coupe and convertible body styles. The drop-top version is known as the Volante, which for those who skipped Italian 101 means “flying.” All DB9s are powered by a 6.0-liter V12 that produces 470 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual or six-speed automatic with paddle shifters are available, and both transmissions are located at the rear transaxle for better weight distribution.
The Aston Martin DB9 comes with a healthy options list and a vast selection of customizable color combinations. The Volante’s soft top can be had in seven different colors, while leather is available in so many shades that even Prince could find one that’s too garish. All DB9s come standard with 19-inch wheels, xenon headlamps, an abundance of leather interior trim, a navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity and a premium audio system with six-CD changer, satellite radio and an iPod interface. Aside from the slew of options
Not that it comes as a shock, but this 470-hp, V12-powered GT is a rather fun automobile. The bellowing exhaust and voluptuous low-end power can make this civilized tourer into a heathenish beast with just a touch of the throttle. The DB9 changes directions easily and responds to steering and brake inputs with an immediacy not always associated with big, grand touring coupes. Thanks to its new adaptive suspension, the DB9 delivers a better balance between ride and handling than older DB9s.
Although buying an exotic car with a price tag of more than $100,000 is often a matter of taste, it is hard to argue with the Aston Martin DB9. It may not be as visceral or thrilling as some more sporting entries, but when it comes to motoring down a long stretch of gently bending two-lane motorway, it’s almost impossible to match.

Used Aston Martin DB9 Models
The Aston Martin DB9 was an all-new model for 2005. DB9s made between then and ’08 feature less ergonomically friendly climate, stereo and navigation controls consisting of lower-quality switchgear (there was also an auxiliary audio jack rather than a dedicated iPod interface). This midlife change also saw revised suspension tuning for a better ride, quicker and smoother automatic transmission shifts and greater torsional rigidity for the Volante. Prior to 2009, the DB9’s V12 produced 449 hp and 412 lb-ft of torque, while the manual transmission wasn’t available prior to 2007.
Until 2011, when the current car’s active dampers were added, the coupe was available with a Sports Pack that provided firmer spring, shock and antiroll bar settings. For those with athletic aspirations, this is definitely a worthwhile option to search for.

ASTON MARTIN V12 VANTAGE

                                   ASTON MARTIN V12 VANTAGE

The Aston Martin Vantage has broken cover with a 12 cylinder model featuring some new exterior design and performance technology that should bring the aging Vantage back into relevance. The 2010 Aston Martin V12 Vantage, as the new British sports car is aptly called, gets a big bump in power and a new stability control system to help put it to the road.

Shaking the “grand tourer” moniker often applied to larger, more unweildy Aston Martin models, the V12 Vantage is pure sports car through and through. A 6 speed conventional manual is mounted behind the driver for better weight distribution and drives the rear wheels.

The V12 powerplant is the same excellent unit found in the current DBS, producing 510 horses and 420 lb-ft. of torque, good for 4.1 seconds through 60 mph and a top speed of 190 mph, Aston says.

On the outside, the 2010 V12 Vantage gets a host of minor styling changes to differentiate itself from “lesser” V8 Vantage models, most noticable of which is the louvered hood. Carbon fiber front and rear air dams, as well as low and lean skirts from Aston Martin Racing round out the package.

2010 V12 Vantage pricing is not yet announced, we’ll have to wait for Geneva for that. Initial reports have put the V12 Vantage at around $250,000.

For those who want a piece of serious Aston Martin performance but don’t want to drop a cool million for the exclusive One-77, Aston Martin may have just the remedy. Expect a V12 Vantage release date of Q3 2009.

Designed for the focused driver, every component of the V12 Vantage has been honed with pure driving enjoyment in mind. Benefitting from race-developed materials and components, and featuring lightweight carbon fibre; performance and agility have been tuned to perfection.

Visually enticing, the V12 Vantage expresses its performance potential through its purposeful stance created by enhanced aerodynamic and cooling aids optically widening the car, while retaining traditional understated Aston Martin design. Equally inviting, the cosseting interior permits the driver to extract maximum performance ability from the car while also enjoying customary levels of Aston Martin comfort on longer journeys. High levels of power and torque are available at all engine speeds making the V12 Vantage responsive and tractable in any driving situation.

The V12 Vantage will be built at Aston Martin’s global headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire joining the DBS, DB9 and V8 Vantage model lines which are built in the state-of-the-art production facility combining hi-tech manufacturing processes with traditional hand-craftsmanship. Production will be limited up to 1,000 examples over the life span of the car, making the V12 Vantage a truly exclusive driver’s car.

ASTON MARTIN V8 VANTAGE

                                       ASTON MARTIN V8 VANTAGE

The roadster variation of the V8 Vantage uses the same mechanicals as the coupe, which means a dry-sump 420-horsepower 4.7-liter V8 driving the rear wheels via a choice of six-speed transaxles. There is a traditional, three-pedal manual or an optional Prodrive-developed automated manual (Sportshift) with paddles swapping cogs or a fully automatic mode.
Aston Martin claims the car will reach 60 mph in 4.7 seconds with the standard transmission. Aston Martin points out another timed performance metric – the total closing time of the Roadster convertible is only 18 seconds and is possible at speeds of up to 30 mph. The cloth top does feature a heated glass rear window, and as the coupe is a two-seater anyhow, the only thing it takes away from is cargo capacity.
Standard equipment is generous, with the expected alphabet soup of electronic driving aids such as ABS, EBD, EBA and DSC. Traction control is likewise fitted, though a limited slip differential offers a mechanical way of maximizing grip.
As one would expect of the brand, even the smallest Aston Martin comes luxuriously equipped and includes full grain leather seating surfaces with alcantara inserts and headliner, electronic climate control, tire pressure monitoring system, and a 160W six-disc audio system capable of playing audio from mobile devices thanks to an iPod interface and USB connection. There is an optional 700W  Aston Martin premium audio system with Dolby Pro Logic II support for those for whom the sound of that V8 engine is not enough.
Other major options comprise 19-inch wheels, a Hard-Dick Drive navigation system, satellite radio, Bluetooth communication interface, and Xenon HID headlights.
