Interiors looks spacious at first sight . Dashboard carries essence of Maruti interiors just like other cars of theirs. S cross is designed as a  clean Cross over but to Indian minds at first glance looks much similar to earlier sedan from Maruti Sx4. With much similar head lights , just day time LED being add on , while rear gets a sharp look and classy triangular back lights. A lot of plastic will be seen across the lower circumference of the vehicle making it look more of Soft SUV .The side profile has changed slightly from the previous vehicle with the roofline being altered slightly. At the back, the S-Cross SX4 retains a similar profile as the outgoing vehicle but now gets sharper features including a new design for the tail lamps. The silver and black cladding can be seen here too and runs the length of the rear bumper. Suzuki has also fitted roof rails but in India we expect that they will offer a career as an optional extra.

The Celerio diesel claims 27.62 km/l in the ARAI tests, thus clinching the title of India’s most fuel efficient diesel passenger vehicle.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Concept

Maruti Suzuki will discontinue the SX4 sedan next year – it will be replaced by a new executive car which is currently under testing with the code name YL1. Although the Indian auto major has been tightlipped about the upcoming model, a fair bit of information is available on the web, courtesy leaks and spy images.

The YL1 will be based on the Ertiga platform, which in turn borrows from the Swift hatchback. This means Maruti will have the option of component sharing to cut cost and bring in economies of scale. We expect the YL1 interiors to be similar to that of the Ertiga with the all-beige treatment. The drop trims and other inserts will be premium as this will slot it in the segment above the Ertiga. The SX4 has always been a spacious car and the same will be the case with the YL1. The cabin will be ergonomic and designed to comfortably seat three adults on the rear bench.
The features on the new car will include a factory-fitted music system with Bluetooth and multimedia functions. The AC with climate control will feature on the mid and top-end variants along with rear vents. Steering mounted audio control, cooled glove box, door pockets at the back are few other features that will be available with the new car. Maruti might also offer a premium package with leather seats as an optional extra. The safety features in the new car will include ABS-EBD and two airbags as standard for the top end variants.


The petrol version of the YL1 will be powered by the 1.4-litre K-Series engine from the Ertiga producing 93bhp and 130Nm of torque. The base variants will be available with a five-speed manual transmission, whereas the top-end will also get the option of AT. The diesel on the other hand will continue to use the 1.3-litre turbocharged multi jet mill developing 90bhp and 200NM of torque. Depending upon the response to the new car, Maruti will make plans to introduce a CNG variant, since it is already available with the 1.4 litre Ertiga petrol.
Maruti is expected to continue using the same nomenclature for the new sedan, the petrol variants should be – LXi, VXi and ZXi, while the diesel variants will mostly be named – LDi, VDi and ZDi. The YL1 is still a codename and the company will rebrand the product before launch. There is a possibility that the new car will also be badged as the SX4. However, Maruti will opt for a different name, if the current model is not discontinued.

The leading Indian car manufacturer MARUTI SUZUKI has launched its new power packed sedan ‘KIZASHI’. MARUTI SUZUKI KIZASHI is the latest attempt by Suzuki to launch itself into the sedan segment. The company is aiming at maintaining its sporty image owing to its motorcycles that command a good market share. Maruti Suzuki Kizashi means “coming up of something great” which is in line with the company’s aspirations. The sedan is a product of in-house engineering and designing by Suzuki.
Director of product planning, Steve Younan gave a synopsis on Maruti Suzuki Kizashi. Suzuki has raised its bar this time and its Maruti Suzuki Kizashi is targeted to compete with Volkwagon Passat, Acuta TSX and Alfa Romeo 159. That meant responsive handling, good steering and captivating performance at the same time withholding quality ride experience. The end result is dampers with high performance, multi link rear suspension, high-end akebono brakes and 18-inch wide wheels. A lot of unofficial spy shots of Maruti Suzuki Kizashi have been seen over the past year. It is now awaited to see if Maruti Suzuki Kizashi lives up to its expectations.

A hybrid version of Maruti Suzuki Kizashi is underway but it will be uncovered only after its gas powered model hits the markets. It is also heard that a V6 model is also in the offing.
Maruti Suzuki Kizashi’s statistics that makes it smaller than its ideals Honda Accord and Toyota Camry are a 183-inch overall length and width measuring 72-inch supported on a 107-inches long wheel-base. The figures for power and expected mileage will be under wraps until this fall when it goes on sale but expected figures are 30 mpg on a highway drive and ranging between 180-200 hp on city roads.
Maruti Suzuki Kizashi has gone for an upscale interior with standard sporty seating. The designing is well executed and neat and should make the buyers of these high end models comfortable. Despite of providing so many features, Suzuki is planning to make its sedan more affordable with its prices ranging between 17k$ till 23k$ which is the same category as mainstream models such as Mazda and Camry.
It is still too early to predict whether Suzuki’s Maruti Suzuki Kizashi proves to be a smash hit or a bummer. What makes it difficult to predict is that Kazashi is pitted against more evolved and establishes brands in the mid-sized sedan segment, who always keep evolving their existing models and do not sticking to their established models so as to provide their buyers a “luxurious” feel at amazingly affordable prices. Hopefully Kazashi has the elements that set it apart from the rest of the cars in that segment else Suzuki’s dreams of entering the most contested segment of cars will fail to see the daylight.

Maruti Swift Dzire is available in both petrol and diesel variants.  The petrol version of Maruti Swift Dzire is packed with 1.2 L K series petrol engine with a displacement of 1197 cc. The Car engine is packed with 5 Speed Manual Transmission. This gearbox is cable type gearshift which is of great help at the time of shifting of gear. The 1.2 L K series petrol engine of Maruti Swift Dzire is very fuel efficient and the light weight DOHC engine present in the car is very efficient in reducing the friction and provides the best fuel economy.                                To begin with, engineers from Maruti Suzuki worked at close quarters with their Japanese counterparts in the development of the Ritz, much like that for the AStar. Bits and pieces here and there come together to make the Ritz a fairly different car as compared to the international Splash. Small modifications on the exterior have been implemented keeping in mind the developing Indian tastes, including a redesigned rear bumper that accommodates reflectors and RR fog lamps. The heart of the car, which is the K12M engine, has been extensively tested, calibrated and tuned specifically for Indian conditions. Apart from this, a reworked gearbox uses gear ratios different from that of the Splash to match its driveability with Indian traffic conditions. Given that unlike in international markets, the rear bench is often used by three and not two adults, special emphasis has been given to the shoulder space and rear seat comfort – a redone seat profile included. To go with the same concept, the Ritz carries a redesigned central console that has also been provided to ease the ingress and egress for rear seat passengers. To take in the sometimes massive potholes in India, ground clearance of the Ritz is a good 30mm higher than that on the Splash. The suspension has been retuned for comfort as per Indian roads. A bigger and wider tyre has also been accommodated, along with the body redesigns needed for the same. While the Swift was lapped up all sorts of consumers for its allrounder abilities, it was essentially meant for the young and sporty crowd looking for a fabulous driving experience. The Ritz will be a more sensible car, with the focus lying on space, comfort and driveability.

                                     What will make the Ritz unique from the rest of Maruti Suzuki’s portfolio is the K12M engine. Elder sibling of the earlier K10B engine that powers the peppy A-Star, the K12M carries the same fundamentals of light-weight and hence far lower levels of fuel consumption and NVH.

MARUTI SUZUKI A STAR

In a move to make an environment friendly car, Maruti Suzuki has come forward with its model Maruti A Star. The car is named as Suzuki Alto for international market where the car is exported. This car is manufactured mainly through used products from the various manufactured car models or as the company calls it. ‘the end of useful life’. Maruti A Star is a type from the group of ‘end of the life vehicle’ (ELV), a new initiative launched from the Maruti Suzuki group. The ELV specification vehicles have come to India recently but they are used greatly throughout Europe.

Maruti A Star is the first environmental friendly car launched under the A-segment cars of its group. In the manufacturing of these vehicles, fatal materials are avoided like-wise mercury, cadmium and lead. Metals like these instead can be used for other purposes like production of batteries.

With a petrol engine of 998cc displacement, Maruti A Star is available in four variants viz., Maruti A-Star Lxi, Maruti A-Star Vxi with manual and AT transmission, Maruti A-Star Zxi. The price range of this car is Rs.3.46 lakh to Rs.4.34 lakh. Maruti A Star comes under the category of hatchback car body type with a fuel economy of 14 kmpl in the city and 19 kmpl on highway. With 3 cylinders and MPFi system and KB series engine, the first car of Maruti which is fitted with this new engine, this car seems to be very powerful. Maximum power delivering capacity of the car is 67 bhp at the rate of 6200 rpm. While the maximum torque provided by the mill is 90 Nm at the rate of 3500 rpm. Maruti A Star has a seating capacity for five with pretty good leg, head, hip and shoulder room. The vehicle is equipped with MacPherson Strut and Coil Spring type of suspension system that results in efficient handling while driving. With front ventilated disc and rear drum type of brakes, the handling becomes easy. Maruti A Star also offers a minimum turning radius of 4.50 mts. Our team took the test ride of the car from Delhi to Agra-organised by the company and the team has lot to say about the positives of the new change.

The front seat of the Maruti A Star has ample legroom, shoulder room, headroom and hip room. With automatic gears, the car provides smooth drive with nimble power and pick-up. Needless to say, the car responds well at every speed and takes you at your desired speed range. The suspension system that was also tested on bumps does its duty well, the braking with ABS is superb. Overall the handling becomes easier and fun. A special mention about the transmission, the car with automatic gears is not meant for those who keep eyes on mileage, even though it delivers pretty good fuel efficiency which is better than its manual variant.

From front to rear, its a great piece of designing that has resemblance of sports car with a hatchback design. The new Estilo is a fusion of style and urban-ness that imbues an imposing feel with a luxurious fascia. Estilo comes in four main choices: LX, LXI, VXI and Green LXI. The new Maruti Suzuki Estilo will roll out in four variants — LXi, VXi, Zxi and CNG variants. All the variants are powered by 1.1L K-Series 3cylinder engine mated with Bharat IV compliant. The top-end model comes with optional safety features like Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), airbags and alloy wheels.

Powertrain and Performance:

The Estilo is powered by the A-Star’s 1.0 L K-Series 3-cylinder engine. Power is transferred to the front wheels by a 5-speed manual transmission. The Estilo has enough sprinting power in the second and the third gears; in the third gear, it reaches a maximum of 100 kmph. The fourth and the fifth gears stabilize speed. The Estilo clocks 60 kmph in just 6 seconds and manages 100 kmph in 16 seconds, an all-time better than its stable mate WagonR.

The stiffened suspensions system does well during cornering and also on bad roads, when loaded. The electronic power steering is refined; it utilises least power and also cuts power off the pump, when speed of the car increases. It has a peppy engine with precise handling but the shifting throws could have been shorter and crisp.

Build and Styling:

The new Estilo is a smart, elegant and contemporary car. It is carved on the Monoform Aerodynamic Design that allows it to cut through air current. The tall boy stance creates some drag but that seems to be minimal. The swept crafted headlamps are head-turners and offer maximum visibility while negotiating darker lanes.

The exterior styling combines drop-gorgeous front fascia that is stunning and has sleek lines. The car has been designed keeping in view the latest trends. The New Estilo boasts elegant head lamps, larger bumpers with built-in fog lamps. The car also has a bigger air dam for better air flow into the powerful engine. The tail lamp cluster is an excellent design, making good use of curves, lines and space. The B and C-pillars, has been a given a black shade and looks sporty and goes well with tinted glasses. Moreover, the body-coloured door handles and exterior rear view mirror highlights the style of the car.

The interiors are just not Maruti Suzuki type; they are quite upscale and plush. The dual-toned dash imparts the impression of a luxurious sedan. The instrument cluster, the AC and the music system on the console are properly placed, adding convenience. The seats are ergonomically designed with shoulder support and adjustable head restraints for comfort. The design offers enough headroom and legroom. The car comes with power windows.

The Estilo has minimal standard features such as power steering, power controls, body-coloured bumper, tachometer, remote keyless entry, power rear door opener, electric mirror adjuster and rear door defogger. Airbags and ABS are optional.
